AAC – Danyell Rose Black Dog

Love Your Life Ministries

DAYNELL ROSE BLACK DOG

I’m 24 years old and have lived on a Native American reservation my entire life. It was a tough upbringing—I started using drugs at 11 and didn’t finish school. While in prison, I experienced major losses: my little sister passed away in 2023, and I also lost my dad, who was the only one in our family to graduate high school.

Interests: My favorite color is blue, and cheesy spaghetti is my ultimate comfort food. I also love working out and playing basketball, whether I’m in or out of prison.

Goals: When I get out, I want to become a support specialist. My biggest dream is to make it off the reservation and maintain my sobriety. I hope to create positive change for my family and be a strong role model for them. While it’s hard to dream big because I’ve been surrounded by the drug life for so long, I’m trying to stay realistic and focus on building a solid foundation for myself. I’m determined not to fall back into old habits and to create a loving future for my kids—my daughter, Royalty, and my son, Abel Iron Leggins. I also envision having a third child someday.
