my goals are to actually be a part of my children’s life’s

background: I grew up with parents who struggled with addiction. They weren’t really present in my life, and even when they were around, it was never for long. For a time, my siblings and I lived with our grandparents, which provided some stability. When I was 9, our mother regained custody of us. Things were okay at first, but over time, the situation steadily got worse.

Now, as a parent myself, I have three children. Unfortunately, I haven’t been a consistent part of their lives over the past 11 years, and that’s something I carry with me every day.
